Web2 has fundamentally altered how we communicate and connect with one another. We use WhatsApp to make phone calls, Amazon to shop, Airbnb to stay in other people’s homes, and online banking and fintech platforms to pay. Web2 has unquestionably improved our wealth and comfort, but it has also introduced new challenges:

Web2 is based on a server-client architecture, which means that data is controlled and owned by centralized corporate organizations. As a result, these businesses wield massive monopoly power and erect obstacles to entry for potential competitors. All Web2 apps, including the whole banking and financial system, are controlled by centralized businesses.

The Web3 has set out to undermine these centralized players’ market influence by replacing centralized server-client architecture with distributed ledgers, the most prevalent of which is the blockchain. As a result, rather than storing all data on a single server, it will be dispersed over a decentralized computer network. As a result, centralized institutions that formerly served as intermediates would be rendered obsolete.

I will be joining training sessions organized by Blockgames (https://blockgames.gg/), Nestcoin (https://nestcoin.com/), and Zuriteam (https://zuri.team/), to learn and build for the future of Web3 and the emerging Internet.

I am a React/Next Developer building for the Web, and I will like to connect with you on LinkedIn via linkedin.com/in/eze-chukwuka
